Georgian Stripped Pine Housekeepers Cupboard

Stripped pine housekeepers cupboard circa late 18th/early19th century. Lovely pale pine body with upper and lower doors with 6 static shelves. Not a deep cupboard at 39cm so does not take up lots of space in a room but the height gives you plenty of storage.

This was originally a built in cupboard in a Georgian house kitchen and was moved to another Georgian house within the last 20 years.

When it was aquired it was covered in white gloss paint. We stripped most of it by hand and then used paint stripper to remove the paint from the fiddly bits. It's not waxed up at present as we decided it was up to you to decide. It can be left as is or waxed and polished or we offer the chance for it to be painted in a Farrow and Ball colour of your choice. If you choose for it to be painted then please allow 4 weeks as we need the paintwork to cure before shipment.

Condition... Still traces of white paint here and there where it would cause damage to remove. Repairs made to the carcass where it had been cut out for skirting board and architrave to allow it fit flush to the wall. There was no back to this cupboard and we have added a hardboard back. Old historic (deceased) worm holes to the very top, not visible from the front. New catches applied. Old replacement handles fitted as there were not any. At the front the original trim was missing which meant there was a gap between the doors. We have added pine trim to make the doors sit together with no gaps. There is of course obvious signs of use. Although we have cleaned the interior there are still marks to the pine shelves in places. Please remember, you are buying an old 200 year old piece of kitchen storage with character, it is not a brand new cupboard.

For Scotland and NI please get in touch for a shipping quote. Collection is always available and we will discount of our shipping fee. We always use a fully insured courier but he is usually on his own, so please when you make arrangements with the him for delivery please make sure there is someone available to help him if required. Collection is usually well within 14 days of the order being placed and delivery is usually 8 to 10 days after that.

RETURNS... We will gladly accept returns within 14 days of delivery if the item is not as described. If it is damaged in transit please also contact the courier too as their insurance should cover any mishaps. However, if you just simply change your mind and there is nothing wrong with the item then we do not accept returns.
