Chinese Marriage Chest

Chinese wedding chest circa early to mid 20thC

Wooden chest painted red inside and the base with a black overlay on the exterior finished with a hand painted chinoiserie pattern in gold to the lid. Ornate metal catch at the front. Metal handles either side.

Condition... The black painted exterior is crudely done but the hand painted decor on the lid was obviously painted over the top of the black. One wooden catch is missingf on the lid (see 9th picture) Please see all pictures for more detail.
