Brass and Iron Fireplace Footman/Trivet Circa 19thC

Fireplace trivet (keep your kettle of hot water hot) or fireplace trivet (place your dinner plates on it to warm them before serving dinner). Circa early to mid 19thC Made from cast brass, an intricate design with a wooden handle all sitting on an iron frame (possibly made by the local blacksmith). Would have been used on a range or possible inglenook fireplace. Can be freestanding but also can hook onto the range (one of the doors perhaps).

Dimensions... Height 25.5 cm Width 24 cm Depth 36 cm (includes handle)

Condition... Handle looks as though it's been replaced at some time. No other losses observed.
