Vulcan Commercial Motor Radiator Cap Car Mascot

A radiator cap in the shape of Vulcan, the Roman god of fire. portrayed as a blacksmith. This would have been found on a commercial vehicle, possibly a charabanc, during the 1920's. The vehicle would have been made by Vulcan Motor & Engineering Co (1908) Ltd, a British motor manufacturing company located in Southport.

Made from brass and silver plated. This one has some wear to the silver plate in places and also some tarnishing. No missing pieces or breakages. Really in very good condition for it's age and once upon a time use.

Dimensions... Height 17cm Diameter of cap 9cm. There are smaller versions that would have been found on cars made by Vulcan.
