Edwardian Copper and Brass Tabletop Food Warmer - Townshends Ltd
An Edwardian tabletop food warmer made by Townshends Ltd 1904 The frame is copper plated brass, the top is hammered copper. All finished off with ebonised handles. There is a copper oil holder with wick, the top slides open to allow you to light the wick without getting your fingers burnt. Has an ingenious mechanism to stop the copper top being hit by a direct flame. Marked to the base 'Townshends Ltd. Patent No. 3633 13/2/04" A perfect and handsome accessory for your table to keep your food warm.
Condition... The copper plating is very worn with the brass showing more than the copper. The wick in the oil chamber is present. The top has a few dings but consistent with it's age of over 100 years and the kind of use it has been put to.
